Friday is coming, but Sunday’s right behind

What is called “Easter” in our culture, is called the Resurrection of Jesus Christ in the Bible. What some churches call “Good Friday” is actually the crucifixion of that same Jesus.  He was unfairly tried and sentenced then nailed to a Roman cross – capital punishment.  Jesus was not without His earthly enemies, but the enemy of His soul (Satan) was supremely satisfied with this outcome as he thought mankind’s pseudo-savior would be dead, buried, and forgotten.  Boy, did he get it wrong! Pride always goes before destruction, as is Satan’s case, but in the case of Jesus, the Son of God, he that humbles himself shall be exalted! (Matthew 23:12) Friday was the ultimate humility, humbling Himself to the ignominy of crucifixion, BUT, Sunday was the ultimate exaltation, overcoming sin and death, hell and the grave, and being raised from the dead, incorruptible, as Lord of all!  Hallelujah!  Christ is risen!  Forgiveness and freedom from sin!  Because He lives, we who believe shall live also.  Hallelujah!  The word “hallelujah” is international praise language, and rightly so. This ancient Hebrew word means “praise Jehovah God!” Yes, Friday may come in your life, but take heart, Sunday is right behind! God always gets the last word.  No matter what you may face personally, privately, or publicly, God is the God of Friday as well as Sunday.  For the believer in Jesus Christ, God has assured us that He “causes all things to work together for good, to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)  On this earth, it does not get any better than that.  Hallelujah! Christ is risen!
