Which way, America?

Filed under: Uncategorized — danielhite @ 3:37 am

I love our country: our heritage, our history, and our heroes. I am afraid America is dealing with a memory problem. We have forgotten who we are and the ideals for which we have stood. We cannot know who we are and where we are going without remembering who we were and what we have done. For some that is memory, but for most others, it is discovery. America is in the midst of an identity crisis which may be the cause of her monumental financial and leadership woes.  This identity crisis is a spiritual crisis involving her identity, her purpose and her motivation for her very existence. Some think that history is irrelevant, and still others that it is a detriment. Created in His image, God has placed within us the gift of memory–encouraging us to remember–so we can evaluate the present in the light of the past in order to chart a course for the future. America needs help. America needs to remember. America is in need of a spiritual awakening.

Revelation 2:4,5 -But I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place—unless you repent.

    Dear Iron Pen:
    Yes, exactly.
Tragically, for the moment, we enter our “Memorial Day” month of May, a time for remembering.
As you have shared with us, our dear land has suffered from spiritual amnesia; the Lord willing,
we’ll recover … sooner than later.
    Sincerely (Psalm 85:4-8),
    the Williams Family
