THE IRON PEN
Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. (Proverbs 27:17)
The Blog of Daniel Hite
I have an opinion on most everything. I hope you do, too. Even though I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I don’t believe everyone is entitled to their own “truth.” I believe in truth and that it is apart from us and that it is absolute. For truth to be absolute, it must have an origin and I believe that origin is God, not man. This God has made Himself and His truth knowable through His son, the God-Man, Jesus Christ, who changed my life and gave me purpose, peace and a place to call home. These truths have all shaped and fashioned my worldview which I hope is consistent with the revelation of God’s truth in His Word, the Bible. I believe the Christian worldview is the only consistent worldview and that it is sufficient to explain every facet of life–past, present, future. I think I’m in good company here. C.S. Lewis once said,
“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.”
I’ll blog and you respond, OK? All I ask is that the interactions be civil and clean. If it is not, it will be gone as soon as I see it. Disagreement is fine, being disagreeable is not. After all, it is my blog–you can do what you want with yours! C’mon, let’s sharpen some iron.
I stay pretty busy as Director of The Pillar Foundation in St. Louis, MO (www.thepillar.org) and pastoring a small church.
